Saltoluokta-Sitojaure
This day was amazing! The ones that are following my instagram @ronjaplomen could see a clip I posted with the song "Feel da rush".
That was my feeling until......
Mosquitoes! They were killing me when I came down the valley to Sitojaure!
Had a wierd evening. Killed all the mosquitoes in the tent, then fell asleep without sleepingbag, pillow or mattress. Sweaty and stinky I woke up at 22 by rain and made the spontanious decision to jump into the cold lake to get myself clean (more or less...). And then quick back into the tent again before being eaten alive by the monsters!
Sitojaure-Aktse-Pårtestugan
Yesterday we were eaten by mosquitoes again. Started walking 5:30 in the morning. Came to Aktse at 8:30. Had breakfast and then took company with one swedish guy and one from australia to row together 4 km over the next lake.
With their superlong legs the guys took off after reaching the shore and I chose a slower tempo.
Decided to stop 6 km before Pårte and stay for the night. Reason 1, no mosquitoes on this hight. Reason 2, I was tired. Reason 3, I found a nice spot to put the tent with a fantastic view!
No rain nor mosquitoes! Wow! 😃
Pårtestugan-Kvikkjokk
Found this part quite easy to walk. No uphill or downhill. Good weather. Less mosquitoes. My feet started hurting though. Put my bag on a scale before, 21 kg. More than expected but less than the start. Probably the reason why my body is hurting a bit. BUT (!) Kita has gotten a new bag today so now she can carry some kilos aswell! 😀 Ordered online it was waiting for us in Kvikkjokk. So excited to try it on tomorrow!
