Planning 2400 km...

Kategori: Allmänt

Since more than 50% of my friends nowadays doesn't speak swedish, I've desided to write the blog in english instead so everyone that wants is able to follow my adventure.

So! These last days I've been a bit busy with work but I've still been able to do a lot of planning when it comes to where I want to walk.
Like I've already written before I'm gonna start at Treriksröset, which is the most north place in Sweden. It's also a place where Sweden, Norway and Finlands are all connected which makes the spot a bit special.

My plan is to take the train as far up north as possible, after that I can go by bus and the last part I can either catch a small boat/ferry or walk by foot until I reach the Treriksröset and the beginning of my adventure. This trip will probably take place around 6th or 7th June.

From Treriksröset I will follow a walking trail that's called Nordkalottsleden. This trail will take me to Abisko where I will start to follow a new walking trail called Kungsleden. This trail is well known and it takes me all the way down to Hemavan! By then I'm already around 1/3 of Sweden, heading south.
This far up north I will for the first time in my life experience the natural phenomena "midnight sun" when the sun never really goes down in the nighttime. It's more or less daylight 24h a day (this occures only in the summer). I might also come across herds of reindeers which I'm very excited about.

Futher south I will walk into Norway for a few weeks before going back to Sweden again, I will by then be around halfway through my whole adventure!

From there...
Östersund ➡️ Sundsvall ➡️ Gävle ➡️ Karlstad ➡️ Stenugnsund ➡️ Gothenburgh ➡️ Trelleborg ➡️ Smygehuk

That's my plan A, but ofcourse things can happen along the way that makes me re-plan my path and change it.

All together my planA is around 2400 km long. Getting excited!
